Our Love Story

It was a hot and humid day in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the first day of freshman orientation at Middle Tennessee State University. Two recent high school grads showed up with zero idea that they were about to meet their future soulmate. At one point, a speaker stood up and said something along the lines of, “Your future husband or wife might be in this room.” Both Aidan and Melissa thought, yeah, right.

Then came a sarcastic comment from Aidan about orientation, and Melissa laughed, like, really laughed. From that moment on, he made it his mission to keep her smiling. He always knew what to say, and she instantly became the calm to his chaos. The perfect balance.

They started dating in September of 2018 and haven’t looked back since. In the years that followed, they moved from Tennessee to Colorado, then on to Virginia. Along the way, they made new friends, had way too many late-night Taco Bell runs, and became proud cat parents to their tuxedo cat, Stout.

On October 26, 2024, Aidan proposed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Since day one, they’ve been building a life full of laughter, love, and a whole lot of adventures, and they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
